KATHMANDU: The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) is launching a nationwide awareness campaign lasting one and a half months from today (Saturday).
The campaign will be inaugurated at 2:30 pm at the party’s central office in Parisdanda, according to NCP spokesperson Prakash Jwala.
“Our party coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal will jointly inaugurate the campaign at Parisdanda,” Jwala said. “Programmes will be conducted in wards and villages across the country during the campaign.”
The party’s Central Coordination Committee meeting had earlier decided to run the nationwide campaign from October 24 to December 11.
Alongside the campaign, the NCP has decided to organise ward and municipal conventions in preparation for the upcoming local elections.
The party also plans to complete the remaining work of integrating its various committees, mass organisations and front organisations during the campaign.
Jwala said the campaign would include party membership renewal and expansion, meetings, gatherings and training programmes.
“The campaign will expose the government’s wrongdoings and anti-people activities,” he said. “We are prepared to collect people’s legitimate demands and concerns related to their daily livelihoods, submit them to the relevant authorities and exert pressure to ensure their implementation.”
