Following the 4-0 victory against Slovan Bratislava, Roma defender Mario Hermoso, who scored the temporary 1-0 lead, spoke to Sky Sport.
“For us, it’s crucial to follow the coach’s instructions, do things well, and win. It’s also important to keep a clean sheet.”
“Today was a really, really important match. We’d struggled after the defeat here against Real Madrid, and we absolutely needed to win this game, also for the standings.”
“Certainly, it’s an important aspect, not just for us defenders, but for the entire team. We’re a tough team, who want to play with great intensity and always implement what the coach asks of us. That’s why keeping a clean sheet is crucial. We also have great talent up front, and we need to try to get as many balls as possible close to the opponent’s penalty area to allow our attackers to score.”
“We have a strong team, a complete squad, and quality players in every position. We must continue to work and be the team we are. We all strive every day to give our all, and that says a lot about us, about the quality of the squad, and about the work the coach and the sporting director are doing. We must continue on this path, because it’s great to see Roma like this.”
