Serbian Parliament Speaker and acting president Ana Brnabic sent a letter of protest to European Parliament President Roberta Metsola accusing some of the MEPs in the EP delegation due to monitor Serbia's October 25 elections of political bias, the Serbian state TV (RTS) said.

The RTS said it had access to the letter.
In it, Brnabic singled out delegation leader Austrian MEP Andreas Schieder alleging that he violated the code of conduct for international election observers during Serbia's December 2023 elections. She said Schieder made no objections in official polling-station records but later publicly spoke about phantom voters and vote-buying.
Brnabic also questioned the impartiality of other delegation members, citing public criticism of the Serbian authorities, support for a political alternative to former President Aleksandar Vucic, and calls to suspend Serbia's EU accession process. She argued that these statements suggested some observers reached conclusions before arriving in Belgrade. The delegation is scheduled to visit Serbia from October 22 to 26.
Brnabic said the European Parliament's choice undermined confidence in the mission's impartiality.
