JPMorgan has projected that Bitcoin (BTC) could deliver a 10 percent compound annual return over the next 10 years. According to the firm’s forecast, Bitcoin could surpass large-cap US corporate stocks and gold to become the highest-performing asset class in the analysis during the same period.
The “2027 Long-Term Capital Market Predictions” report published by JPMorgan Asset Management evaluates the potential performance of different asset classes over the next 10 years.
According to the report, Bitcoin is expected to yield a compound annual return of 10 percent. During the same period, US large-cap stocks are projected to yield 7.5 percent annually, while gold is expected to yield 5.5 percent.
Based on these projections, Bitcoin stands out as having higher return potential than the other two asset classes in JPMorgan’s assessment.
Bitwise Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Matt Hougan also commented on JPMorgan’s predictions. Hougan argued that there has been a significant shift in traditional financial institutions’ approach to Bitcoin.
According to Hougan, financial institutions that previously ignored or criticized Bitcoin are now including the cryptocurrency in their long-term investment analyses.
Bitwise’s CIO noted that it’s remarkable that these institutions are beginning to consider Bitcoin among the assets that could provide the strongest returns in the next 10 years.
JPMorgan’s forecast indicates a broadening of institutional assessments of Bitcoin’s potential role within traditional investment portfolios.
However, the 10% annual compounded return rate mentioned in the report is merely a projection for the future. Bitcoin’s actual performance may vary depending on market conditions, investor demand, and macroeconomic developments.
