The African Futsal Forum has been invited by the Confederation of African Football to a high-level round-table meeting in Morocco during the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations in October 2026.
The meeting will bring together key stakeholders to discuss the growth, professionalisation and long-term sustainability of futsal across the continent.
The meeting will focus on domestic leagues, youth and women’s development, player and coaching development, refereeing, infrastructure, club development, sponsorship, broadcasting and commercialisation.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Nigeria’s Futsal representative, Shamsudeen Tijjani Yusuf, described the invitation as a significant moment for African futsal and an opportunity for the community’s voice to shape the sport’s future.
He said Africa has enormous futsal talent and potential, stressing the need for stronger structures, competitions and investment pathways.
The Forum said it will use the Morocco meeting to advocate practical initiatives to strengthen futsal foundations and create more opportunities for players, clubs and national teams, with the goal of building a more professional and globally competitive African futsal ecosystem.
