Caretaker Justice Minister Nenad Vujic filed a criminal complaint against an unidentified person suspected of forging a presidential pardon for defendants charged in the Novi Sad railway station canopy collapse case.

The Justice Ministry said the fake document, allegedly issued by former President Aleksandar Vucic on September 27, purported to pardon former Traffic and Infrastructure Minister Goran Vesic, Jelena Tanaskovic, Anita Dimoski and Nebojsa Surlan. It was subsequently circulated on social media.
Vujic said the document was an obvious forgery because its format and content differed from authentic pardon decisions. It was marked as having been delivered to the Novi Sad Higher Public Prosecutor's Office rather than the court. It also lacked the court case number, carrying only the prosecutor's case number.
The complaint, filed with the Novi Sad Basic Public Prosecutor's Office, seeks to identify the person who created and used the forged document.
Vucic said on September 27 before he resigned as president that he had pardoned 49 people, but did not disclose their names.
