Michigan State men's basketball could be without its top player for their final exhibition game on Sunday.
The Spartans head to Milwaukee for their third and final exhibition game against Marquette on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. The question now is whether its top player Jeremy Fears Jr. will play or sit this one out.
Fears suffered what ended up being a minor lower leg injury in Tuesday's exhibition game against UConn. He left the game for a few minutes after the play but returned to finish the game.
On Thursday, both head coach Tom Izzo and Fears made comments that suggest he'll play against the Golden Eagles. But Izzo didn't commit to him definitely playing -- especially if the injury could have any lingering effect.
Check out 247Sports' Stephen Brooks' social media post about this topic below:
Tom Izzo and Jeremy Fears Jr. both said after practice they expect Fears to play Sunday at Marquette. Izzo wouldn’t commit 100% but it’s certainly his expectation. Won’t risk it though if it’s something that can linger, he said.

This will be something we need to monitor and wouldn't hate if Izzo went safe by resting Fears. I would expect him to play but maybe see a more limited role in this matchup.
This game between the Spartans and Golden Eagles will be streamed on YouTube.
