Atiku and Kwankwaso
The presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated vice-presidential candidate of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on his 70th birthday.
Born on October 21, 1956 in Madobi, Kano State, Kwankwaso clocked 70 on Wednesday.
The milestone has drawn congratulatory messages from many public figures, including President Bola Tinubu and NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
In a message shared on X on Wednesday, Atiku described the former Kano governor as his “dear friend and brother”.
He said, “Happy 70th birthday to my dear friend and brother, Your Excellency, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. What a beautiful milestone, and a fitting moment to celebrate a life devoted to service, leadership and the people of Nigeria.
“May this new chapter bring you abundant joy, sound health and the love of family and friends. May God continue to bless you with wisdom, strength and many more fulfilling years. I hope your special day is as wonderful as the remarkable man we celebrate. Happy birthday, my dear brother.”
Atiku’s message comes days after his camp and Kwankwaso’s publicly fell out ahead of the 2027 general election.
The political feud escalated on October 18 after Kwankwaso accused the ADC Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) of running a smear campaign against him.
This is just as he dismissed reports suggesting that he and Obi were working for President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The ADC-PCC had earlier cautioned Kwankwaso against attacking its presidential candidate and redirect his energy towards holding the ruling APC accountable for its failures.
