The footage, posted by Mutua on his X account, was filmed from inside a moving vehicle navigating congested streets amid the Azimio protests. Mutua captioned the post: "Happening now. Under Ruto's tear gas and water cannon. Ruto must go!"
Those inside the car were heard saying, "It's a running battle now. They have an album tomorrow. Oh, yeah... These guys are like asking for forgiveness, but today they have been beaten... Maybe they are going to block the front."

Bodyguard's account of the security breach
Raila's bodyguard, Maurice Ogeta, has since spoken out about the incident, alleging that Mutua's real-time broadcast inadvertently compromised the team's operational security.
Ogeta said the livestream captured not only events unfolding on the streets but also internal coordination discussions taking place inside the vehicle.
"If you are doing it live, it's being seen by friends and enemies at the same time," Ogeta said.
He added that calls reached him from contacts in the United States and South Africa warning that something was wrong, prompting him to investigate. He confirmed it was Mutua behind the recording.
Ogeta said he attempted to warn Mutua at the time, but suggested the caution went unheeded.
He stopped short of laying direct blame on Mutua but made clear the matter remained unresolved for him personally, stating: "To date, I am not very sure whether I have forgiven him on that." Mutua has not responded to the claims.
Ogeta's abduction and lingering doubts
Meanwhile, days after the protest incident, Ogeta said he was abducted, and he believes individuals within his own circle played a role in exposing his whereabouts.
In the process, he lost KSh 14.7 million, which was inside his car. He said part of the money belonged to the late ODM boss, while some was his near 10-year investment.
The resurfacing of the footage has drawn renewed attention to the security vulnerabilities that can arise when public figures broadcast live from sensitive operational environments, particularly during high-stakes political confrontations.
