Samantha Ruth Prabhu is hosting Celebrity MasterChef Tamil—a show where celebrity contestants will show off their cooking skills. For one of her appearances, the actor chose a choga set from New Delhi-based designer Heena Kochhar's namesake label, which is known for bringing traditional crafts together with contemporary design language.

The ivory choga features self-cooloured badla resham embroidery in the form of intricate foral motifs and vines throughout the kurta that adds texture to the look despite its monochromatic colour scheme. Barrel-shaped pants in gingham turned bottoms for the kurta set. The shape—a mainstay in denim this season—was an unexpected addition to a traditional choga, highlighting Kochhar's ability to seamlessly blend modern detailings in a traditional context.
Stylists Amrita Singh and Pooja Karanam finished the look with oxidised silver jewellery from Tribe Amrapali. They chose a choker-style necklace, jhumkas and stacked silver bangles. Her hair is in a side part with loose waves, and a small black bindi adds to the whole ensemble. Makeup artist Avneer Rambia kept the beauty soft, with a smoky eye as the standout and a nude pink lip.
The palette is minimal and restrained, but there are multiple layers at play. The floral embroidery and the graphic checks below add texture without competing.
Her other pregnancy looks have included a look from Mishru—a fluid silk satin cape worn over a fitted skirt covered in intricate hand embroidery; a sage-coloured three-piece set with harem pants from label Seeaash and a red-and-green saree from Raw Mango. The actor’s looks are proof that pregnancy looks can be both comfortable and stylish at the same time.
From the Vogue desk:
“The idea of mixing barrel pants with a kurta set appeals to me as festive season approaches. To make this very look more ceremonial, swap the antique silver jewellery with polki or navratna necklace and earrings. Throw on some pointy heels to add some elevation to your look,", says Ashwini Arun Kumar Vogue India fashion features editor.
