Maya Jama, who can currently be seen engaging in psychological warfare with the likes of Jerry Hall and Romesh Ranganathan in The Celebrity Traitors, was back in more traditional territory on Saturday night: the red carpet. The TV host joined fellow VIP guests including Gwendoline Christie, Cush Jumbo and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan at the 2026 British Museum Ball.

Also adhering to the red theme on the night? Natasha Lyonne, Sir Grayson Perry and Lesley Manville. The British Museum’s second annual ball comes as the institution hosts the Bayeux Tapestry, which went on public display in the UK last month for the first time since it was created, almost 1,000 years ago. Originally embroidered in England, the 230ft tapestry tells the story of the Battle of Hastings, and is currently on loan to the museum while its usual home – the Bayeux Tapestry Museum in Normandy, France – undergoes renovations.
