IMPHAL, Oct 19: The G-5 comprising KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK(Pro) and the Koireng-led UNLF has banned all festivals, fairs and musical concerts held in hotels etc with effect from November 1, with the exception of traditional, cultural and religious festivals.
The true colour and objective of the proxy war being waged allegedly by India with the help of Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists which began on May 3, 2023 are becoming more obvious with the Naga people dragged into the violence, said a joint statement issued by KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK(Pro) and the Koireng-led UNLF.
The proxy war has indicated that India never sees Manipur as one of its States rather it (India) sees Manipur as its colony and the people of Manipur as colonised subjects, it asserted.
The main objective of the proxy war is decapitating the indigenous communities of Manipur so that they can never stand up against the political injustice done by India upon the people of Manipur over the years, G-5 alleged.
It said that the proxy war is also aimed at weakening and annihilating the indigenous communities and ultimately transplanting the Indian population in Manipur. The recent political manoeuvre of BJP is a part of their grand strategy of achieving the dream of an “Akhand Bharat”, it said.
The notion harboured by Meiteis that the war has ended is totally misplaced. The war has not ended and it will not end anytime soon. The war will go on until the indigenous communities are weakened to the point of no return, it said.
The fact that the war has not ended was testified unmistakably by the attack carried out by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists upon a group of firewood gatherers in the hills located between Nongsum and Khongbal Tangkhul in Imphal East district this morning.
The attack claimed three innocent lives and injured several others.
“We need to understand the reality. If we cannot be realistic even after facing such utter humiliation, misery, threats and the possibility of getting wiped out, we will be wiped out”, G-5 said.
Every one must understand that Manipur at present is passing through a second Seven Years’ Devastation, it said.
It asserted that unification of all communities and fighting collectively is the only way to defeat the Government of India’s policy to allegedly annihilate the indigenous people of Manipur.
If the communities remain fragmented and divided, they will only get weaker and weaker, making it easier for the adversaries to annihilate all the indigenous communities, G-5 said.
Had all the indigenous communities joined hands and fought the ongoing proxy at its initial stage, the war would have ended a long time back but the indigenous communities could not unite.
“We overlooked the unbreakable organic and symbiotic relationship shared among the communities. Today, each community has understood how weak and helpless they have become because of working for a long period only for their respective community’s interests”, it said.
The only way for survival of the communities is unification. Meiteis, being the largest community, must shoulder greater responsibility toward unification of all the communities.
Meitei rulers, politicians, CSOs and common people must review their thoughts, perspectives and activities which are often limited to the valley.
When innocent people are being killed, houses burnt down, thousands displaced and the people’s suffering has been only worsening in the hills, people living in the valley indulging in any kind of merry-making or entertainment programme is simply unjustifiable, it said.
People living in the valley must understand the pain and misery being endured by the hill people. All sections of people must accept that when Kamjong bleeds, Imphal bleeds, it added.
