Former Generations star Thabiso Mokhethi has sent fans into a wave of nostalgia after posting a nearly two-decade-old magazine cover on Instagram. The sangoma-turned-preacher shared the throwback snap on 18 October 2026, giving followers a glimpse into his soapie heyday.
The 2008 Move magazine cover featured Mokhethi alongside his former co-stars Kagiso Rakosa, who played Sharon, and Palesa Madisakwane, who played Palesa. The three actors were photographed together to represent one of the most talked-about storylines from the golden era of the original SABC1 drama.
The love triangle that had Mzansi hooked
Samuel Khumalo and Sharon Motaung were television sweethearts at their finest. Their bond grew from a close friendship into a deeply rooted romance, with their journey culminating in a much-celebrated traditional wedding. Palesa, however, arrived as the ultimate disruptor, determined to wedge herself between the beloved couple.
Samuel found himself caught between his long history with Sharon and the temptation of something new with Palesa, who resorted to a string of desperate lies in her bid to keep him.
Sharon spent much of the storyline on edge, fearing that Palesa was a threat she simply could not shake. In the end, Samuel and Sharon's chemistry proved too powerful to be undone, and the two went on to marry and raise a son together, cementing their place as one of South African television's most iconic pairings.

Thabiso Mokhethi's uplifting message
Reflecting on the magazine cover, Mokhethi described the moment as deeply significant to his younger self.
"This was a dream come true for me. Believe in yours too; with God, nothing is impossible," he wrote alongside the post.
The message is a telling reflection of how far Mokhethi has journeyed since his Generations days, having transitioned from one of Mzansi's recognisable TV faces into a life of faith and ministry.
