New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn appeared to make a blunder during a halftime interview in his team's last game, and then media department at One Jets Drive did him no favors the following day.
Let's explain.
The Jets (2-4) lost 26-19 to the New England Patriots (4-2) on Sunday. Glenn made a statement that one could consider embarrassing just before the second half of the game.
Glenn did a quick interview with CBS Sports. During it, the coach said his team gets the second half kickoff and would start on offense. They did not.
Glenn was asked about the gaff on Monday but disputed it... according to reports, at least.
That's our statement because during Glenn's response to the incident, the live feed cut out:
.@RichCimini asked #Jets HC Aaron Glenn about his viral halftime interview with @NFLonCBS where he said he thought they were getting the ball in the second half vs the #Patriots & if he could clarify.

Thankfully, there were reporters that to hear the response.
While Glenn's comments at halftime seemed relatively straight forward and incorrect, he responded otherwise on Monday.
Per the Post, Glenn responded by saying he was talking in generalities about the offense and team. A confusing response, but here it is:
“No, I actually talked about just the offense — I think they were talking about sustaining drives, and my conversation with them is when the offense gets the ball back, man. We want to be able to sustain a drive and go score,” Glenn said. “Then when the defense gets back on, we want to make sure we stop them and get the ball back to our offense. That’s what I was talking about when it comes to that. The conversation was talking about the offense at that time.”
