KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor Public Works Department (PWD) plans to add a lane at the traffic light junction in Alam Budiman, Shah Alam, following recurring accidents involving heavy vehicles, particularly lorries.
Its director, Shukri Ishak, told Buletin Utama TV3 that survey and utility mapping works were planned to begin at the site in about two weeks.
The medium-term measure will involve building an additional lane about 300m long from the Shah Alam direction, as well as improving street lighting and traffic lights at the junction, he said.
The department has previously introduced several safety measures at the location, including a temporary lane, road signs and improved lighting.
