Miss Riungu, a Kenyan content creator living in the United States, documented the moment her husband was formally dismissed from his nursing job on October 15, 2026, just hours after she had sat down to rewrite his CV in a bid to get ahead of the situation.

The couple had known trouble was brewing. Riungu's hubby had been suspended alongside a colleague for two months while their employer conducted an investigation.
When the outcome finally arrived, it was not a reinstatement but a termination letter. Miss Riungu admitted she broke down in tears, describing the weight of the news hitting her all at once.

"Imagine being suspended when you're the breadwinner," she said in the video. "You're the one providing for the family, and suddenly, you're not working anymore."

Rather than holding out for the investigation process to deliver any further outcome, Riungu's husband chose to act immediately.
Miss Riungu filmed herself typing up his CV while the family loaded into the car for a roughly 30-minute drive to meet an HR contact who happened to be a personal friend of her husband's.
Why was Miss Riungu's husband's friend suspended?
The colleague who had been suspended alongside Riungu's husband had made the mistake of being caught sleeping on duty via CCTV footage.
He had confessed, believing honesty would work in his favour, but was never called back. Riungu's husband took note of that outcome and decided waiting was not an option.
Miss Riungu used the moment to reflect on the vulnerability that comes with depending on a single income in America.

"You can wake up one day and discover that your job is gone, and the bills won't wait for you," she said, urging her viewers to build at least one backup source of income.
The day took a dramatic turn when Riungu's husband emerged from the meeting with documents confirming a new position. His friend, working in HR at the new facility, brought him in without requiring a formal interview process.
In a twist, the same supervisor who had been involved in the earlier workplace incident had also applied at the new location and had already been hired there.
Miss Riungu credits God for His kindness
The two found themselves starting at the same place within hours of each other.
Miss Riungu, visibly emotional, credited God for the swift turn of events. "I left home without a job, but I've come back with a job," Riungu's husband said as he returned to the car.
The family rounded off the day by picking up groceries, buying their daughter pink slime, and collecting their child from the school bus, ending what had begun as one of their most stressful mornings on a note of relief and gratitude.
