EXCLUSIVE: Innovative Artists Entertainment has signed multi-hyphenate Tisha Campbell for representation in all areas.
Campbell recently released her memoir, The A Word: A Mother’s Journey Through Autism and Love (Amistad/HarperCollins), which became Amazon’s No. 1 New Release during the title’s launch window from September 15 to September 17, according to stats from Amazon. She is also an Independent Bookstore Bestseller, based on IndieBound, which tracks sales trends from indie book sellers.
Campbell is now touring the country on her national stand-up comedy venture, “The Dayum Gina Tour,” as a nod to the popular catchphrase expressed by her Martin co-star, Martin Lawrence, to her character Gina on the hit comedy series. The role was a breakout for Campbell, though she had racked up credits prior, including a series regular role in NBC’s Rags to Riches, and recurring in The Cosby Show spinoff A Different World and the ABC sitcom Blossom. Her early film roles include Little Shop of Horrors, House Party 1 & 2, and Eddie Murphy’s Another 48 Hours.
Campbell is also widely recognized for her starring role in ABC’s My Wife and Kids, playing Janet Marie “Jay” Kyle opposite Damon Wayans. Most recently, she recurred on Paramount+’s hit comedy series The Ms. Pat Show, FX’s critically acclaimed The Lowdown, and reprised her character Juanita “Peaches” Clarkson from Everybody Hates Chris in the animated series Everybody Still Hates Chris.
Following her starring role in Lifetime’s Mary J. Blige Presents: Be Happy earlier this year, she expands her role behind the camera as the star, co-writer, and executive producer of the upcoming Lifetime Original Movie, One Last Shot. Premiering November 14th, the project will reunite Campbell with her House Party co-star AJ Johnson—their first professional pairing since the 1990 cult classic.
Campbell continues to be managed by Mainstay Entertainment, Schreck Rose Dapello, and AvianPR.
