Inter have collected 19 points from their first seven matches of the Serie A season in 2026-27, matching their record points haul after seven games in the three-point era, but each time this has happened previously, the Nerazzurri have not gone on to win the league title.
Inter’s worrying omen after picking up 19 points from seven games
Inter came from behind to claim a 3-1 victory away against Bologna on Saturday evening thanks to goals from Marcus Thuram, Carlos Augusto and Ange-Yoan Bonny.
This is already the fourth time in seven Serie A matches that Inter have had to come from behind to rescue the points. The Nerazzurri have recovered 10 points already from losing positions this season, more than any other side in Europe’s top divisions.
Despite the fact that they remain without a point after two matches in the Champions League this season, Cristian Chivu will be pleased with what he has seen from his players in Serie A so far this term, dropping just two points, which was in a 2-2 draw away against the in-form Roma.

Inter’s tally of 19 points is the most they have ever recorded in Serie A after seven matches.
They have matched that tally of 19 on three occasions previously: in 1997-87, in 2002-03 and in 2017-18. However, the concerning omen is the fact that Inter did not go on to win the Serie A title in any of those seasons; Juventus pipping them to the post on all three previous occasions.
