KOHIMA, Oct 23: Students from 10 schools across Nagaland are taking part in a two-day entrepreneurship programme designed to nurture innovation, problem-solving and practical skills among young people.
The Seed the Future Entrepreneur (STFE) Programme began on Thursday under a national initiative organised and funded by Dassault Systèmes La Fondation, with support from the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog.
Lend A Hand India (LAHI) is implementing the programme in Nagaland in partnership with Samagra Shiksha Nagaland under the Department of School Education.
Addressing the inaugural session, Dr Chumbeni Kikon, Joint Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, urged students and teachers to look beyond conventional approaches and develop innovative solutions to challenges in their communities.
She said everyday problems faced by families in household activities and by farmers during cultivation and harvesting could inspire practical ideas with potential for wider application and commercialisation.
The programme aims to help students identify real-world challenges, apply design thinking and develop solutions through innovation and entrepreneurship.
The 10 participating schools are GHSS Singrijan, GHS Toluvi, PM Shri GHS Naharbari, PM Shri GHS Kiruphema, GHSS Jotsoma, PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kohima, Livingstone Foundation International, St Paul School, Phesama, Nazareth School, Pfutsero, and Hollotoli School, Dimapur.
Interns from Government Polytechnic Kohima, Government Polytechnic Seithekema-C and Government Polytechnic Tsünazho, under the Directorate of Technical Education, are also participating to strengthen collaboration between school and technical education.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Chinglensana Khangenbam, officer of Lend A Hand India.
