Hina Javed’s family has asked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to form a judicial commission to investigate her death in Rawalpindi. The family rejected the findings of a police committee and demanded an independent inquiry.
In a letter to Maryam Nawaz, relatives raised concerns about forensic evidence and deleted messages from Hina’s mobile phone. They said the investigation lacked transparency and called for a fresh review. Maryam Nawaz said the probe remained incomplete and assured the family that justice would be served.

Hina, 45, was found dead in her bathroom in Rawalpindi’s Lal Kurti area on August 21. Her brother filed a murder complaint at Civil Lines police station. He alleged that she had suffered violence before her death. The post-mortem report recorded a fractured neck bone, rib and hip injuries, and blood around her heart.
Police arrested Hina’s husband, Faisal Asghar, and domestic worker Zeeshan Arshad in connection with the case. Investigators also named her father-in-law during the inquiry. Zeeshan’s family later accused police of trying to portray him as the main suspect.

Hina’s family claimed that DNA from Faisal and his father had been found on her neck. It also questioned an initial theft report filed by her father-in-law. Relatives further challenged the suspicion directed at the domestic worker before forensic and fingerprint results became available. They said reports from the mobile phones of Hina and the suspects were still pending.
The family argued that police should not decide anyone’s guilt before a court delivers its verdict. It also raised concerns about the committee’s role in investigating the case and drawing conclusions. The family urged Maryam Nawaz to review the case file and establish an independent judicial commission. The chief minister also promised to meet the relatives personally.
