DAEJEON — Daejeon Technopark said on the 19th that it ran the 2026 Daejeon North America Future Mobility and Battery Industry Strategic Trade Mission in Detroit and Toronto from Oct. 12 to 17.
Three Daejeon-based companies joined the mission: Libest, Smart Korea and Axvis.
Libest gauged demand for silicon-carbon (Si-C) anode materials and high-performance battery cells and packs, while Smart Korea explored prospects for supplying activated carbon and carbon filters used in air purification and water treatment. Axvis sought partnerships in automation and 3D machine vision and inspection solutions for automotive and battery production lines.
The companies held 21 business meetings and signed contracts worth a combined $7.48 million — $1.28 million in Detroit and $6.2 million in Toronto.
Daejeon Technopark said it will keep working with KOTRA's overseas trade offices to support follow-up talks with buyers and will tailor additional support to each company's needs to help them enter the North American market and expand overseas sales channels.
