F1 partner Mattel activated its deal by playing the world-famous UNO card game, involving Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri and Pierre Gasly.
The deal between F1 and Mattel initially started with the licensing of its famous Hot Wheels brand. The success of that partnership led them to collaborate on another of its big brands, UNO, at the end of the 2025 season.
The special pack features UNO cards of drivers, cars, helmets, along with the team principals and reserve drivers from all the F1 teams across special Elite Action Cards, booster packs, and starter sets.
They have specific rules set as well to create more drama among the families and friends playing the card game together. As part of a sponsor activation, F1 got the McLaren pair of Norris and Piastri to play a game of giant UNO.

They had Alpine’s Pierre Gasly to make it a three-player game in the pit lane of Baku City Circuit during the 2026 Azerbaijan GP. Even before they started, the Frenchman got the humor portion in by reminding them of taking away his F1 podium at Monaco.
The shuffling of giant UNO cards saw Norris pull away and let Piastri do the heavy work, citing a potential injury in a light moment. It was an easy win for Gasly after the two McLaren drivers took each other off, thanks to Draw 2 and Draw 4 cards.
Piastri was left frustrated by the end of it, of course, in a light-hearted way. But the Australian fought back handsomely to eventually beat his teammate Norris, who was left with two cards. The Brit could have changed the color, but he missed the bus.
The F1 fans had a moment of joy in the comments section. “This is how McLaren vs Alpine over Oscar should have been settled,” said one. Another wrote: “The fact that they filmed it in Baku where all three had horrendous races.” One wants the whole grid to play: “Have the whole grid would be crazy.”
