Megazone Cloud, an artificial intelligence, cloud and security company, is expanding into markets that demand high levels of security and regulatory compliance, including U.S. government agencies and the defense industry.
The company said on the 23rd that it has obtained Amazon Web Services' authorized government reseller status, allowing it to supply AWS GovCloud to U.S. public-sector and regulated-industry customers.
AWS GovCloud is an isolated AWS region designed to meet the security and compliance requirements of the U.S. government and regulated industries, enabling government agencies and other customers to run sensitive workloads in the cloud. To win reseller status, Megazone Cloud built an operating framework staffed by specialists based in the United States and demonstrated its ability to deliver the service reliably.
With the certification, the company plans to expand its AWS business through its U.S. unit, targeting local government and public agencies as well as heavily regulated markets such as defense and critical infrastructure. It will provide technical support across the entire process — from cloud environment design and construction to migration and operation — for local customers that are considering AWS GovCloud or already using it.
The company will also broaden support for Korean firms seeking to enter the U.S. public market. It will help design, build and operate AWS GovCloud-based cloud environments for domestic companies that do business with the U.S. government or want to move into industries requiring stringent security and regulatory compliance, such as defense, manufacturing and energy.
"Megazone Cloud has accumulated security and compliance capabilities by supporting cloud migration and operations for public-sector and regulated-industry customers at home and abroad," said Kim Jong-chan, leader of the company's cloud strategy unit. "With this certification, we will provide more specialized consulting, implementation and operations services to customers that require high levels of security and regulatory compliance, including the U.S. government, public agencies and the defense sector, and we will aggressively expand cloud migration business in related industries."
