DL E&C (375500) said on the 15th that it opened a separate showroom on the 10th for members of the Sangdaewon 2 redevelopment association in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. The move signals renewed momentum for the project after a dispute earlier this year over replacing the builder.
The showroom carries the complex's new name, GRATUS. It operates by advance reservation through the 30th of this month, running daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in four sessions. DL E&C said reservations have topped 1,000 since the opening.
The Sangdaewon 2 redevelopment will build 43 buildings of up to 29 stories with 4,885 units in the area around 3810 Sangdaewon-dong, Jungwon-gu, Seongnam. DL E&C signed the construction contract in 2021, but disagreements over replacing the builder surfaced early this year. A court ruled in DL E&C's favor in July, confirming its status as contractor, and the two sides are now negotiating revisions to the contract and permits for groundbreaking.
"Thanks to the strong support and requests from association members, we have prepared a showroom that can fully convey the value of this complex," a DL E&C official said. "With the determination to complete Seongnam's finest landmark, we will thoroughly explain not only our superior product design but also the overwhelming terms that will substantially reduce members' burden."
DL E&C has put forward 20 project conditions. Members' contributions would be paid in full one year after move-in, and construction costs would be fixed at 6.99 million won ($4,900) per 3.3 square meters. The package also includes full acceptance of the general sale price, a guaranteed groundbreaking, full acceptance of the draft construction contract requested by the association, and a five-year subscription care service for premium home appliances.
The complex design features rooftop styling, facades using curtain-wall looks and metal panels, and a redesigned main gate. Green space will cover 20,200 pyeong, with 67 specialized gardens, five water features and a 5.9-kilometer walking trail. Community facilities will span 5,900 pyeong across 58 spaces, including six sky amenities such as a sky pool, guest house, sky lounge and sky private spa, along with two all-day dining venues serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
"Through this showroom, we deeply understand all members' desire for swift progress on the project, and we believe we have created a new turning point to move forward together," the DL E&C official said. "Based on solid cooperation with the association going forward, we will do our utmost to transform Sangdaewon 2 into a landmark complex representing Seongnam."
