The Atlanta Falcons will need some kind of miracle to defeat the undefeated San Francisco 49ers this Sunday, but they did catch a small break on Friday. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has officially ruled out wide receiver Mike Evans due to an Achilles injury.
Evans, a six-time Pro Bowler, spent his first 12 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before signing in San Francisco over the offseason. The 33-year-old leads the team with 420 receiving yards on 27 receptions, with three touchdowns in six games this season.
Luckily for the Falcons, the 49ers have several other notable injuries going into Sunday's game. San Francisco has also ruled out defensive end Nick Bosa (calf), wide receiver Deebo Samuel (hamstring), safety Marques Sigle (ankle), linebacker Luke Gifford (groin) and LB Garret Wallow (hamstring).
Atlanta isn't in great shape injury-wise, either. The team ruled out four players, running back Brian Robinson Jr. and linebacker Divine Deablo, and listed 10 players as questionable.
