Even though the United States spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have recorded 7 consecutive months of cash inflow to date, XRP price led the top four cryptocurrencies in a broader sell-off on October 13, 2026.
On Tuesday, XRP price traded at approximately $1.46, down nearly 3% over the past 24 hours. As a result, this crypto asset has plunged more than 9% over the past 7 days.
With 63.12 billion tokens in circulating supply at the time of writing, XRP has a market capitalization of about $86.05 billion. Despite the recent correction, the token’s 24-hour trading volume spiked by over 67% to $2.55 billion, thereby signaling increased trading demand.
Meanwhile, over the past 7 days, Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Binance Coin (BNB) were down by around 2.8%, 7.25%, and 5.42%, respectively.
XRP price faced retrenchment today, largely fueled by heightened liquidation of long traders, thereby triggering a long squeeze, a situation in which falling prices force long holders to sell, accelerating the decline.
Furthermore, $17.97 million in XRP’s long trades were liquidated during the last 24 hours, compared to $1.22 million in short trades. As the heightened volatility sparked liquidation of long traders, the token’s Open Interest (OI), the total unsettled futures in the derivatives market, surged 4.42% to $7.14 billion while the derivatives trading volume soared by more than 42% to $17.94 billion, indicating amplified activity, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
XRP price performance today
Over the last 30 days, the token’s price is up 1.4%, heavily fueled by renewed institutional demand amid regulatory clarity in the United States and other major global jurisdictions.
For instance, the U.S. spot XRP ETFs have registered a net cash inflow of $592.95 million over the past 7 consecutive months, thereby currently holding $1.55 billion, as per data from SoSoValue.
As such, XRP price experienced heightened selling pressure today due to a long squeeze, amid broader crypto bearish sentiment.
