The stable update began reaching the Nothing Phone (3) on October 12, 2026, with other eligible Nothing and CMF devices scheduled to receive it in phases through January 2027.
The update focuses on improving the user experience through interface changes, enhanced Glyph controls, and new tools for managing information. However, the rollout will not cover every Nothing smartphone, as some older models have reached the end of their major software support.
Nothing OS 5.0 Rollout Schedule and Eligible Phones
Nothing Phone (3) is the first phone to be updated with the Nothing OS 5.0 stable release. According to the rollout schedule, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, Nothing Phone (4a), and Nothing Phone (3a) series will receive it in early November 2026.
The Nothing Phone (2a) and Nothing Phone (2a) Plus will be updated in mid-November, and the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite in late December 2026. The CMF Phone 2 Pro and Nothing Phone (4b) will receive it in mid-January 2027.
The above-mentioned dates are indicative and may vary from region to region as well as carrier to carrier. As with other phased rollouts, eligible users may receive the update on different dates.

Redesigned Interface Brings New Customization Options
Nothing OS 5.0 introduces visual updates, including the Geist font, updated icons, a new Settings layout, and a wallpaper-dependent color palette.
Widgets now support transparency, and a new Micrographics clock face adds more customization options.
This creates a uniform look without losing Nothing’s distinctive design approach. Moreover, the latest version improves not just visuals but also user interactions and system controls.
Glyph Interface Gets Expanded Controls
The Glyph Interface remains a key part of Nothing’s smartphone experience, and the new software brings additional ways to manage it.
A dedicated Glyph app brings related controls together, making it easier for users to access supported settings and customize the phone’s lighting features. Expanded customization options and Glyph-related tools are also part of the update.
These features may vary by smartphone model, as different devices offer different Glyph hardware capabilities.

Essential Space Receives AI-Powered Improvements
Nothing OS 5.0 also improves Essential Space, the company’s tool for organizing captured information.
The feature can organize content, transcribe voice notes, summarise information, and identify action points. These capabilities help users retrieve important details without manually sorting through every saved item.
Some enhancements will be delivered separately through Google Play, so not every feature will be available immediately after installing the operating system update.
Android 17 Features and System Improvements
This update includes Android 17 features like separating quick settings from notifications. The update also introduces enhanced screen recording and QR code quick share to help transfer files from Android to iPhone.
Nothing also didn’t leave behind smooth animations, touch improvements, system control improvements, and stability when scanning a QR code.
These improvements aim to enhance the user experience, along with visual updates and AI features.
How to Download Nothing OS 5.0
Users with eligible smartphones can check for the update by opening Settings > System > System updates.
If the update is not available, users may need to wait for the rollout to reach their device or region. The company is distributing the software in phases so that availability can vary even among owners of the same model.
Nothing OS 5.0 brings interface changes, smarter tools, and system-level improvements. For eligible users, the update offers a refreshed software experience, though the full feature set will depend on device compatibility and the timing of individual feature releases.
