Armenia continues to diversify its foreign economic ties, expanding the presence of Armenian products in international markets.
According to Ani Badalyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia, from January 1 to October 12, a total of 908.6 tons of flowers were exported from Armenia to 30 countries, including neighboring countries (Turkey, Iran, Georgia), as well as markets in Europe (14 EU member states, Switzerland, Moldova, Ukraine, Serbia), the Middle East (UAE, Oman), Central Asia (Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan), and North America (USA).
“It is important to record that compared to the same period last year, the geographical scope of [Armenia’s] flower exports has significantly expanded. If last year exports were carried out only to France, the UAE, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Georgia and the Russian Federation, then this year the list of destinations has been supplemented with 23 new markets.
From EU countries, Armenian flowers have already been ‘hosted’ until now in the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Italy, Poland, Cyprus, the Czechia, Romania and France,” Badalyan wrote.
The EU’s Autonomous Trade Measures (ATMs) for products from Armenia entered into force on October 10.
