Guwahati: Bhangagarh Police have detained a doctor following allegations that he molested a young woman who visited Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) to show her medical reports on October 15.
According to the allegations, the incident took place inside the doctor's cabin, where he allegedly touched the woman inappropriately, including her private parts. The doctor had reportedly asked the woman's accompanying family member to wait outside during the consultation.
Following the alleged incident, complaints were lodged at both Bhangagarh Police Station and the Women's Police Station in Guwahati.
Acting on the complaints, police detained the doctor, identified in the reports as Dr Rishikesh Adhikari, for questioning.
The allegations are under investigation, and further details are awaited from the police.
