The Ministry of Education has accepted 1,311 grievances filed by teachers affected by staff redistribution decisions, following a review of their applications and supporting documents under its administrative reform plan.
The ministry said the appeals were assessed against unified criteria, including a distance of at least 16 kilometres between a teacher’s residence and the newly assigned school, health conditions, care responsibilities for people with disabilities or special needs, and documented family and social circumstances. Appeals that did not meet the approved requirements were rejected.
Teachers covered by the redistribution decisions, including those whose grievances were accepted, have been instructed to check the outcome through the “My Decisions” service on the ministry’s website and complete their clearance and joining procedures electronically through the Teacher and Administrator Record system.
The previous school principal approves the clearance, while the new school principal confirms the teacher’s assumption of duty. Biometric attendance data is then transferred automatically, without requiring a visit to administrative offices. The ministry said the proportion of teaching workloads within approved limits had risen to 75 percent across educational districts, compared with 34 percent before the redistribution plan.
The rate reached 84 percent in the Capital Educational District, 82 percent in Farwaniya and Mubarak Al-Kabeer, 73 percent in Hawalli, 70 percent in Ahmadi and 64 percent in Jahra.
The ministry attributed remaining imbalances in some subjects to shortages of teachers in particular specializations, adding that efforts to address these gaps would continue. It said the redistribution plan aims to align staffing with schools’ actual needs, improve the balance of teaching workloads and support stable class schedules and the quality of education.
