The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continued preparations Thursday for Sunday’s Week 6 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Raymond James Stadium, with several players showing progress on the team’s latest injury report.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield (right thumb) and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (rib) remained sidelined for the second consecutive practice, putting their availability for Sunday’s game in serious doubt. Mayfield continues to recover from the thumb injury that has kept him out of Tampa Bay’s last two games.
There was some encouraging news, however, as running back Sean Tucker (quad) and cornerback Ayden Garnes (ankle) returned to practice on a limited basis after sitting out Wednesday. Wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. (rest) was also back as a full participant, while defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson was added to the report with a rest designation.
For Pittsburgh, cornerback Jalen Ramsey (wrist) and defensive tackle Keeanu Benton (ankle) were upgraded to limited participation. Running back Rico Dowdle (toe) was a full participant after being limited Wednesday.
The Steelers continued to be without wide receivers Roman Wilson (finger) and Ben Skowronek (calf), both of whom have already been ruled out for Sunday’s contest.
