Hyundai Steel (004020) is moving into the high-value building steel market with a new integrated brand covering both rolled and welded H-beams.
The company said on the 12th that it held a launch event for the H ONE brand at the Pangyo Techone town hall in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, attended by major clients, structural design firms and officials from academic and industry associations. H ONE combines its existing rolled H-beam (RH) and built-up H-beam (BH) lines under a single brand. Hyundai Steel plans to use the brand to extend its business beyond RH, where it has been concentrated, into BH and to strengthen its system for supplying customized products.

Demand for a wider range of H-beam sizes and structural specifications is growing as construction expands for artificial intelligence data centers, semiconductor fabrication plants, high-rise buildings and large logistics centers. AI data centers in particular require steel with the structural strength to bear heavy loads and in special dimensions, because they must house large server arrays along with cooling and power equipment.
In response, Hyundai Steel has broadened its lineup from RH, which offers stable quality and supply capacity, to include BH, which can flexibly accommodate large cross-sections and non-standard dimensions. RH is produced as a single piece through a rolling process in which semi-finished steel is passed between rolls and shaped to the required form and size, giving it uniform quality and high production efficiency. BH, by contrast, is made by cutting and welding thick steel plate, allowing it to meet project-specific design requirements such as large cross-sections or non-standard dimensions.
Drawing on the production and sales capabilities it has built as the country's largest RH supplier, Hyundai Steel has selected 130 core BH specifications to widen the range of options available to customers. The company also set up a dedicated unit for power infrastructure, including AI data centers, earlier this year and has since won steel orders for seven data center projects. "We will establish ourselves as the integrated solution brand that customers turn to first whenever they have H-beam needs or concerns," said Kim Sung-min, executive vice president and head of Hyundai Steel's sales division.
