HYDERABAD
Senior leader of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former Minister T. Harish Rao alleged that the State government deceived the unemployed after promising to recruit them in Germany through the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Ltd (TOMCOM) and collecting ₹4.5 lakh each from 75 youth from 15 districts about two years back.
In a statement, Mr. Rao said on Sunday that the families of those youth had borrowed money by mortgaging the gold jewellery of their mothers and wives. However, not even an interview has been arranged for even one of the 75 candidates from whom the money was collected. He demanded an inquiry into it.
A third party agency has been asking the candidates to clear the B2 language exam now after telling them initially that clearing only the B1 language exam was enough and in case of any objection they are being told to move a Lucknow court, which is 1,000 km from Telangana. The government was not giving information about the number of youth employed through TOMCOM so far even after filing an RTI petition.
While the 75 youth selected were not given jobs so far, TOMCOM had started another batch in June promising overseas jobs.
