US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has claimed that the execution of convicted murderer Nidal Hasan will be open to the public. According to Pentagon sources, it will be livestreamed.
The topic was discussed on an episode of the podcast The Rest Is Politics featuring British Prime Minister Burnham.
"I would never support something like that. I find it completely abhorrent in many ways," he says.
According to US President Donald Trump, no formal decision has been made about a live broadcast.
Public executions were abolished in the United States in the 1930s.
