“Cheetah Girls” meets “mob wives” meets “Flashdance.”
These are just a few of the words our commerce editors are using to describe the new Ganni x Lululemon collaboration, which launched this morning, October 15.
Lululemon is no stranger to a designer collab — Roksanda Ilincic, Robert Geller, Saul Nash and more have all crafted capsule collections for the athleisure brand. But the latest Ganni partnership is nothing like anything we’ve seen before from Lululemon. Expect 80s-inspired pieces à la “Dirty Dancing,” with a touch of Copenhagen street style.
Shop 22 fun, flirty and bold activewear pieces, most of which are crafted in Ganni’s iconic leopard. The designs feature ruffles, nostalgic off-the-shoulder silhouettes and mesh accents. Lululemon’s signature Define jacket and stretchy Nulu leggings take on an unexpected twist that’ll make fellow gym goers look twice when passing by.
The campaign is appropriately spearheaded by “Flashdance” star Jennifer Beals and dancer METTE. The duo joined forces in a video captured from a dance studio, showcasing the new collection in a tribute to the 80s.
There is also a “Club Dance” pop-up shop in New York City’s Williamsburg timed to the launch. Under neon lights, attendees can explore racks of clothing while jamming out to DJs and dance crews. For three days, guests can also take part in exclusive dance classes with top instructors and choreographers during the daytime or nighttime.
“80s dance movies have been part of my life since I was a child, so they felt like such a natural starting point,” said Ditte Reffstrup, Creative Director at Ganni, said in a press release. “I’ve always been drawn to the energy, determination and sense of freedom in those films, and the way dance becomes such a powerful form of self-expression. For the collection, we brought that 80s dance energy into the colors and details, then mixed it with Ganni signatures like leopard and frills, and Lululemon’s world of movement.”
“It all comes from movement. When we first started talking about the collection, Ditte said her movement practice was dance, and everything flowed from there,” Jonathan Cheung, Global Creative Director at Lululemon, added. “What I love about this collection is its use of our technical materials combined with the iconic Ganni style.”
Below, shop some of the fiercest styles from the Ganni x Lululemon collaboration (and go quick, because they’re selling out fast!).
Lululemon x Ganni Define Ruffle-Trim Jacket in Leopard

Animal instinct? Lululemon’s traditional, sweat-wicking Define Jacket is not only soft but stylish as well thanks to a bold leopard print.
Lululemon x Ganni Ruffle-Trim MR Tight in Leopard

Every workout jacket needs a matching pair of leggings. This design is stretchy, comfortable and easy to move around in as you fulfill your fall fitness goals. Peep the subtle ruffle trim for added feminine flair.
Lululemon x Ganni Ruffle-Trim Cropped Tank in Leopard

Ditch your traditional sports bra for a playful tank, crafted from a four-way stretch fabric. It’s both quick-drying and sweat-wicking, making it ideal for even the toughest of workouts. Plus, removable inserts allow you to customize just how much support you want and need.
Lululemon x Ganni Back to Life Straw-Lid Bottle 24oz

If your fall wardrobe is already stacked, you can still sport the new collection by adopting this eclectic water bottle. It’s insulated and has a foldable straw lid for easy sipping.
Lululemon x Ganni Ruffle-Trim Textured Jacket

I wasn’t alive in the 80s, but if I was, I envision this is what Jane Fonda would wear in her classes. The flamboyant ruffles are a nostalgic nod, while the pale pink contrast piping brings the design back to modern day.
Lululemon x Ganni Ruffle-Trim Textured MR Shorts

The jacket is complemented by matching shorts, which feature similar ruffle details in a crinkle-textured fabric. A built-in brief liner provides extra coverage, while hand pockets can store some of your essentials.
Lululemon x Ganni Merino Wool-Blend Bolero

Forget traditional cardigans. This super-soft merino wool-blend knit keeps just the arms warm. We’re obsessed with the thumbholes and ruffle cuffs. Pair with matching gray leg warmers to really channel the “Dirty Dancing” decade.
Lululemon x Ganni Ruffle-Trim Textured MR Pants

Slip into this baggy pair of pants post-workout. They’re both quick-drying and abrasion-resistant, with several hidden pockets to stash hair ties, a phone, individual face wipe packets, and anything else you might need after a sweat session.
Lululemon x Ganni Jacquard Mesh Half-Sleeve Bodysuit

Dreaming about mesh? Strut into your next dance or workout class in this semi-sheer jacquard design. It layers beautifully over a sports bra and will hold its shape as you move.
