When the Atlanta Falcons face the Chicago Bears this Sunday, all eyes will be on quarterbacks Michael Penix Jr. and Caleb Williams. The two former top-10 picks from the 2024 NFL Draft are dealing with injuries coming into Week 6.
Penix suffered a rib injury last Sunday, but he did not receive any injury designation on the team's Friday practice report. Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski said Penix won't have any restrictions after logging three full practices this week.
Williams was officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Atlanta. The former No. 1 overall pick has missed the last two games with what has been described as a slight hamstring tear.
Despite practicing in full for all three days this week, the nature of Williams' injury makes it tougher to gauge. We are assuming Williams will play, and that the team likely just wants to wait to see how the QB feels on Sunday morning.
Williams has passed for 407 yards, two touchdowns and one interception for a passer rating of 92.0 in less than two games of action this season. The Bears have until Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET to determine if Williams will be active.
