Bayern Munich will be without Joshua Kimmich for Wednesday night’s Champions League clash against Arsenal following a death in his close family.
The German champions confirmed the news in a brief statement on Wednesday afternoon.
“On behalf of the family, we ask that their privacy and grief be respected and that no further inquiries or reporting on the matter be pursued,” the club stated.
“The entire FC Bayern family stands alongside Joshua Kimmich in deep sympathy.”
Bayern had announced on Tuesday that Kimmich missed the team’s final training session ahead of the game for personal reasons.
