FORMER Liverpool goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi was forced to miss a Champions League clash after masked robbers stormed his Valencia home in a terrifying hour-long ordeal.
Gulacsi, who now plays for Spanish side Villarreal, was held at gunpoint alongside his wife after four intruders burst into their luxury property in Puçol around 1am on Tuesday.
The gang threatened the Hungarian keeper, 36, and his wife, Pilates instructor Diana Vigh, demanding they open a safe and hand over cash and valuables, according to Diario SUR.
At least one of the couple’s two young children was also inside the house as the nightmare unfolded.
The armed intruders allegedly held the couple at gunpoint for around an hour before fleeing the exclusive Monasterios estate in two luxury vehicles.
Once the gang had escaped, the shaken goalkeeper alerted emergency services, with police and paramedics racing to the scene.
Nobody was physically injured, although the family reportedly needed medical attention following the ordeal.
The value of the stolen belongings remains unknown, while investigators have yet to establish whether the pistols used in the raid were genuine or replicas.
Spain’s Guardia Civil has launched an investigation to identify the four suspects and trace their getaway vehicles. No arrests have yet been made.

The ordeal left Gulacsi unable to play in Villarreal’s Champions League clash against Napoli on Tuesday evening, with Brazilian goalkeeper Luiz Junior stepping in to replace him.
Villarreal confirmed that the authorities had been informed immediately and were investigating the incident.
The Hungarian international joined the Spanish club in August following a lengthy spell at German side RB Leipzig, having previously spent six years at Liverpool.
He made 57 appearances for Hungary between 2014 and 2025, representing his country at three European Championships.
The robbery comes amid growing concern over organised gangs targeting footballers’ homes across Spain.
Spanish police recently arrested three suspects over a string of burglaries in Catalonia, including break-ins at the homes of Barcelona stars Joan Garcia and Pau Cubarsi.
Two men were remanded in custody, while a 46-year-old woman was released on conditional bail.
In May, former Southampton defender Jan Bednarek and his family endured a similarly terrifying ordeal when a knifeman raided their home in Porto, Portugal.
The intruder reportedly escaped with jewellery worth €150,000 after threatening the footballer and his family.
