KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's Aaron Chia–Soh Wooi Yik fell short of a fairytale reunion after losing to Indonesia's Fajar Alfian–Muhammad Shohibul Fikri in the Denmark Open men's doubles final on Sunday.
The world No. 4 duo went down 21-8, 21-11 to the world No. 3 Indonesians at the SJF Bank Arena in Odense.
The defeat denied Aaron–Wooi Yik a second Denmark Open crown, having previously lifted the title in 2023 for their maiden World Tour triumph.
Despite the disappointment, the Malaysians can take encouragement from their run to the final in their first tournament back together after months of playing with different partners.
