The Texas housewives are back, and it’s hunting season.
The full trailer for The Hunting Wives season two has dropped, and the first look at the Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman-starring Netflix series signals that season two is bringing out the big guns when all eight episodes release on Netflix Nov. 26.
As has been promised by the cast and creator Rebecca Cutter, the trailer (below) shows more sex, more blood shed, more secrets threatening to come out, and even the entry of a reality show, a la The Real Housewives, for this conservative group of East Texas women who became a sexy summer sensation when season one released last year. It also teases a spicy reconciliation for Sophie and Margo.
That finale’s cliffhanger had left Snow’s Sophie cut out of the clique run by Åkerman’s Margo. Their will they-won’t they romance will be tested when season two returns — here’s the official logline: “At the start of season two, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?”
The series, meanwhile, has already nabbed an early season three renewal ahead of the Thanksgiving Day return.
Dermot Mulroney, Jaime Ray Newman, Evan Jonigkeit, George Ferrier, Karen Rodriguez and Hunter Emery round out the cast. Branton Box, Dale Dickey, Kim Matula, Cam Gigandet, Alex FitzAlan, John Stamos and Angel Reese also star in season two.
Created by showrunner/writer/executive producer Cutter (Hightown), the Lionsgate Television series is also executive produced by Erwin Stoff for 3 Arts Entertainment and May Cobb, author of The Hunting Wives.
The Hunting Wives, adapted by showrunner Cutter from the bestselling novel of the same name by Cobb, became a 2025 summer sensation for Netflix when it released season one. The series, which was originally developed for Starz, became the most-viewed streaming series in the U.S. and spent six weeks in Nielsen’s top 10 chart of streaming originals after its season one release.
