KARACHI: An online bike rider broke down after armed robbers snatched his mobile phone and cash at gunpoint near Shaheed-e-Millat Road in Karachi late last night.
According to details, two armed men riding a motorcycle intercepted the rider and fled after taking his phone and cash.
Following the robbery, the victim was seen sitting by the roadside in tears. He said he had previously been targeted in two separate robbery incidents.
The rider said he had purchased his mobile phone for Rs25,000 just two months ago.
“How will I afford another mobile phone now?” he said, expressing concern over how he would continue earning a livelihood.

Meanwhile, police officials said no formal complaint had been lodged in connection with the incident so far. However, they said CCTV footage from the crime scene and surrounding areas was being obtained as part of the investigation.
Earlier in July this year, police arrested the suspect involved in the road rage attack on a food delivery rider in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
According to police, the suspect was arrested during a raid in the Badar Commercial area of DHA. His car was also taken into custody. Police said the suspect was allegedly planning to flee to another city before his arrest.
The incident occurred after a minor collision between a car and a motorcycle. The driver reportedly lost his temper, got out of his vehicle and repeatedly struck the rider’s motorcycle with a hockey stick, causing significant damage.
He then chased the food delivery rider while carrying the hockey stick and allegedly issued serious threats. Following the incident, the rider sought legal action against the suspect.
