President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on her birthday, commending her contributions to public service, social justice and efforts to mobilise Nigerians in the diaspora for national development.
The President, in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described Dabiri-Erewa as a devoted public servant and committed party faithful whose career has been defined by service to Nigeria and concern for the welfare of disadvantaged people.
Tinubu particularly acknowledged her contributions as a broadcaster, lawmaker and head of NiDCOM, noting her sustained interest in advancing the welfare of Nigerians both at home and abroad.
He also commended her efforts to attract the skills, expertise and resources of Nigerians living overseas to support the country’s development, particularly in education, healthcare and sports.
“I have noted the passion, diligence, and foresight that Dabiri-Erewa brings to her work as a journalist, lawmaker, and chief executive of NiDCOM, particularly her historic roles in pursuing social justice for Nigerians at home and abroad,” the President said.
Tinubu said Dabiri-Erewa had consistently demonstrated patriotism through her commitment to humanitarian causes and her efforts to place the needs of underprivileged Nigerians at the centre of her work.
“Abike has demonstrated love for the country and humanity over many years by consistently placing the welfare and well-being of the underprivileged at the centre of her work,” he said.
The President also praised her role in encouraging Nigerians in the diaspora to contribute to national development, describing her work in mobilising diaspora talents as commendable.
“Her patriotic role in attracting diaspora talents to contribute to the country’s development, particularly in education, health, and sports, is commendable. She has justified the awards and recognition that have come her way,” Tinubu said.
He prayed for God’s blessings, wisdom and good health for the NiDCOM chief executive as she marks another year, expressing the hope that she would continue her work in promoting the interests of Nigerians.
“As you mark another special day, I pray for God’s blessings, wisdom and good health to carry on the good work you are championing,” the president said.
