The Lenovo Legion Go 2 has seen multiple price hikes since its release. The latest one appears to have pushed the price of the Z2 Extreme model with 2TB of storage to $3,081.99.
The Lenovo Legion Go 2 launched in September last year, but its price has changed significantly since then. While the handheld originally entered the market with a $1,480 price tag, the 2TB model powered by the Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor climbed to $2,849 a few months ago.
Now, Lenovo has increased its price once again. The company's official website currently lists the Legion Go 2 with the Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and 2TB of storage for $3,081.99, pushing the handheld beyond the $3,000 mark for the first time.
Compared to its original $1,480 launch MSRP, that's an increase of $1,601.99. It's also around $233 more than its previous $2,849 price. At this point, the Legion Go 2 has moved well beyond what most people would consider a premium gaming handheld, as its current price puts it out of reach for many buyers.
Lenovo hasn't explained why the price has increased again. However, it’s likely due to the ongoing memory crisis affecting the technology industry, which has already pushed several manufacturers to increase the prices of their products.
Still, crossing $3,000 is a significant jump for a gaming handheld, especially considering the Legion Go 2 originally launched for less than half of what Lenovo is now asking for this configuration.
