Some of the world’s biggest technology companies have contributed millions of dollars to US President Donald Trump’s planned White House ballroom, with six major firms accounting for a combined USD 92 million, according to a new report by The Washington Post.
NVIDIA, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta are among the contributors. The newspaper learned of the donations after obtaining records identifying major donors and their contributions. The wider fundraising effort has reportedly attracted more than USD 150 million from Silicon Valley companies, cryptocurrency businesses and industry figures.
Apple and NVIDIA Lead With USD 25 Million Each
Apple and NVIDIA were the two largest contributors among the six technology companies, donating USD 25 million each. Google contributed USD 22 million, while Microsoft gave USD 10 million. Amazon and Meta each contributed USD 5 million.
Google’s contribution was linked to a 2025 settlement in a lawsuit Trump brought against the company’s YouTube platform. The payment has attracted particular attention because it came through a legal settlement rather than a conventional corporate donation.
The contributions came through different channels, including direct corporate payments and organizations linked to major companies or industry figures. The arrangement has made it harder for the public to see who is financing the project.
Ballroom Project Draws Scrutiny Over Transparency
The Trump administration said that the White House ballroom is funded largely through private donations. However, the fundraising process has raised questions about transparency because the nonprofit collecting contributions is not required to publicly identify every donor.
The Washington Post reported that some contributors have business interests involving the federal government. That overlap has drawn scrutiny from watchdog groups, and critics are concerned that major corporate donations could create conflicts of interest.
The reporting does not establish that the contributions directly influenced government decisions. Still, companies with substantial regulatory, contractual, or policy interests have intensified calls for greater disclosure.

A Bigger Fundraising Effort Involving Corporate America
The six technology companies are only part of the broader donor network. Other contributors reportedly include Palantir, Comcast NBCUniversal, T-Mobile and cryptocurrency firms such as Coinbase and Ripple. The ballroom project has become a prominent example of the relationship between Washington and major corporate donors. For technology companies, government decisions can affect everything from competition policy and artificial intelligence to cloud contracts and regulation.
The newly disclosed figures offer a clearer picture of the money behind the project, but questions about donor transparency and potential conflicts of interest are likely to continue as more details emerge.
