Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has urged Yan Diomande to improve his finishing, saying the young winger must make better decisions in front of goal to fulfil his potential at the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano on Monday, Mourinho made the remarks after Real Madrid’s victory against Sevilla on Sunday, while expressing satisfaction with the teenager’s overall contribution.
“I am very happy with Diomande. He has a lot to work on, and he has many things he needs to improve. He needs to work on his finishing,” Mourinho said.
The Portuguese coach noted that Diomande regularly finds himself in dangerous attacking positions but needs to show greater composure when completing his moves.
“He gets to a lot of dangerous positions, but he needs to learn to relax more and make a better decision in last touch,” he added.
Diomande, a 19-year-old Ivory Coast international, joined Real Madrid from RB Leipzig in a high-value summer transfer.
