FOREIGN tourists and locals are fueling a ‘pandemic’ of cocaine deliveries via WhatsApp in the heart of Malaga city, police have warned.
The drug is now being ordered ‘as easily as drinking a shot’, with a simple text message and a dropped location pin enough to secure a swift delivery.
According to Malaga Hoy, the so-called ‘telecoca‘ phenomenon is leading to two or three arrests every weekend in the city’s historic centre.

Local Police officers patrolling the nightlife hotspots say the drug is no longer restricted to exclusive VIP areas.
“It is already a pandemic, it is everywhere,” police sources told the Spanish newspaper.
They added: “We have caught all kinds of consumers: pharmacists, doctors.”
But the list goes on – waiters, taxi drivers, and even police officers were also identified by investigators as regular buyers.
Foreign buyers are frequently caught making purchases while waiting in queues outside popular nightclubs, investigators revealed.
In one recent bust, plainclothes officers from the Local Police’s GIP unit watched a dealer approach a group waiting to enter a club.
After witnessing an exchange of cash for a small bag, officers arrested the suspects and seized multiple 1.5-gram wraps of cocaine.
The ease of access has kept prices remarkably stable, hovering at around €50 a gram, or €60 in the worst cases.
This is roughly the same price the drug cost three decades ago when Spain still used the peseta.
Experts say the street value remains low because of the sheer volume of the drug flooding into the country.
