United States President, Donald Trump, has warned France to take urgent measures to address immigration, claiming that the influx of migrants from different cultural backgrounds has contributed to unrest in the European country.
Trump issued the warning in a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, urging the French government to close its borders and regain control of the situation.
“France is burning! The immigration of people from an entirely different world, people with hatred in their hearts, has shattered that once great country. Close your Borders and take control, before it is too late! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he wrote.
The comments reflect Trump's longstanding hardline stance on immigration, which has featured prominently in his domestic and foreign policy agenda.
He has repeatedly advocated stricter border controls and mass deportations, arguing that uncontrolled migration poses security and cultural challenges.
France has experienced recurring debates over immigration, integration, public security and national identity.
The country has also witnessed protests and urban unrest in recent years, prompting renewed political discussions over policing, social inequality and the integration of immigrant communities.
