Kangpokpi, Oct 21: Security forces apprehended three suspected individuals and recovered eight automatic weapons and three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during a cordon-and-search operation in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Wednesday.
The operation was launched at around 9.30 am by personnel of the 207 Battalion of the CoBRA unit, 112 CRPF and Kangpokpi Police in the general area of S. Phailengkot.
According to an operational update, the security forces recovered eight automatic weapons, three IEDs and one locally manufactured pump-action weapon, known as a “Pumpi”.
