The speed limit will be increased on three roads and reduced on two more as the RTA continues to work to improve traffic flow across the city
Drivers, take note: the speed limit on five major Dubai roads is changing next week. Effective from Sunday November 1, three streets will have their speed limits increased while the speed limit on two further streets will be reduced.
The speed limits will be increased on the following roads:
- Al Asayel Street: From 60 to 80 km/h, between Oud Maitha Street and Al Meydan Street.
- Al Mustaqbal Street: From 60 to 70 km/h, between Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Meydan Street.
- Latifa bint Hamdan Street: From 60 to 70 km/h, between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.
The speed limits will be reduced on the following roads:
- Al Rebat Street: From 100 to 90 km/h, between Marrakech Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
- Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street: From 80 to 70 km/h, between 2nd December Street and Khalid bin Al Waleed Street.

The adjustment to the speed limit comes after Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police reviewed the traffic in the area, determining the new speed limits based on traffic volume, existing road design speeds, and the extent of urban development. It’s forecast that the new speed limits will enhance traffic flow efficiency while also improving traffic safety levels.
