Two critical vulnerabilities have been identified in the PHP programming language, allowing attackers to target websites, Reuters reports.
PHP is software that runs on most websites worldwide and underpins much of the internet.
"PHP is everywhere. It silently powers WordPress, Drupal, Joomla and Magento sites, shared hosting platforms, control panels and a horrifying array of software that doesn't even advertise that it runs PHP under the hood," cybersecurity firm Huntress wrote in a blog post.
An update was released on Wednesday at 4 p.m., and Sweden’s National Cybersecurity Center urges all businesses to update their systems immediately or disconnect them from the internet.
